Celebrate Black History Month

February is Black History Month

A tribute to the Olmec Toy Company.  In 1995, Yla Eason, an African American woman starting the company after her son complained that he could not be a superhero because there were no Black Superheroes.  Since that time many companies have created African American Superheroes.  Some  of the dolls below appear in the superhero costumes  and the others have played superheroes.  Can you guess?

Answer will appear next Monday.

Clawdeen Wolf

Mattel, I want a boyfriend.  All of my friends have one.  Can I please have one?

Grace

Me and the girls were having so much fun.  We were going different places and mentoring our little sisters.  I even had a boyfriend named Darren.  We had our line and fan club. However,  things kept changing since our founder left.  The African American designers were not there for us anymore.

Now, our company had discontinued my line and have moved me and only me to the main line.

I went from being the star to the supporting supporting friend.  I want my line back.
